WISANZ’s Key Takeaways from the 2023 UN Space4Women Expert Meeting

Women in Space Aotearoa New Zealand (WISANZ) Committee Members Kate Breach and Lara Collier participated in the UN Space4Women Expert Meeting in Montreal, Canada from 30 October to 3 November 2023.

The 2023 Expert Meeting, co-hosted by the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), brought together 69 participants from 35 countries to share knowledge, experiences and future plans from their countries/organisations towards advancing gender equity in the space sector.

The participants worked together to review and provide recommendations on the draft of the first ever Gender Mainstreaming Toolkit for the global space sector. This Toolkit will be released at the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) in June 2024.
